SELLING TO THE COUNCIL
This page contains brief details of the type of contract
the Council lets, examples of the goods and services it purchases
and useful contact details for key officers involved in the
procurement process.
The full detail of the procurement process is contained in a
separate document entitled 'Selling
to Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council'.
Advertisements for
tenders for goods and services will be added to the Current Tenders
page available from the left menu of this page as they are
invited.
Types of
Contracts
The Council operates
different types of contracts:
- One-off purchases (of works, supplies or
services)
- Long term service contracts (e.g. cleaning,
maintenance of equipment)
- Call-off contracts. These last for a defined
period. Once the contract has been awarded, the Council places
orders "as and when" to meet needs as they arise throughout the
contract period, e.g. stationery
- Framework contracts. The Council identifies a
number of companies who have successfully met required standards in
open competition, without the need to use the tender process each
time a need is identified.
Many Council contracts are
based on model documents, which should be familiar to contractors
in specialist areas. Contract terms and conditions are always sent
out with the invitation to tender.
