nominations
- Sports Personality of the Year
A person who has excelled in their chosen sport during
2008.
- Young Citizen of the Year
Any person aged 25 or under who has worked in the voluntary sector,
given service to the community or attained achievements, academic
or otherwise, which deserve recognition.
- Performer of the Year
Any person or group who / which has excelled in the Performing Arts
(dance, music, drama for example) or other art forms.
- SCOOT (Stamp Crime Out Of Town) Award
A person or business who has significantly contributed to the
reduction of town centre crime to benefit the public and
retailers.
- Volunteer of the Year
Any individual or group who dedicates their time freely to whatever
cause they feel is worthy.
- Community Initiative of the Year
Any
individual or group who organised an initiative which benefited the
local community (this could range from an action group to an
individual collecting litter).
- Good Neighbour Award
A person who has
displayed selflessness and has been caring and helpful as a
neighbour.
- Environmental Initiative Award
An
individual or group who has organised an initiative that benefits
the local environment (this could range from recycling activities
to protecting wildlife).
- Club of the Year
A club of any description, which has enhanced the lives of
individuals and made a valuable contribution to the local
community.
- Customer Service Award
An individual or
local company who has displayed outstanding customer
service.
- Best Shop Window Display
Any shop window, which has enhanced the street scene and encouraged
local pride.
- School of the Year
A local school which has demonstrated an outstanding contribution
to the life of the Borough.
