DECLARATION OF RETURN AS A MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN
PARLIAMENT
I, Sir Howard Bernstein, being the Regional Returning Officer
for the North West Region hereby give notice that following:
- the resignation with effect from 27 August 2006 of Terry Wynn
who was elected on the Labour Party list as Member of the European
Parliament for the North West Region,
- the receipt by me in writing that the person whose name appears
highest in the list submitted by the Labour Party, disregarding the
name of any person who has been returned as an MEP or who has died,
namely Brian Simpson, is willing and able to be returned as an
MEP,
- the receipt by me of a certificate signed by the nominating
officer of the Labour Party that Brian Simpson may be returned as
the Party's MEP.
I declare that Brian Simpson is returned as a Member
of the European Parliament with effect from 28th August
2006.
