Parliamentary By-election for the Crewe
and Nantwich constituency
A Parliamentary By-election was held on Thursday 22nd May 2008
for a member to serve in Parliament for the Constituency of Crewe
and Nantwich. Turnout for the By-election was 58.16% representing
41,856 votes cast out of 71,963 eligible votes.
The Tories swept to victory overturning a 7,000 Labour majority at
the General Election claiming 20,539 votes which was 49.1% of the
votes cast.
