Introduction

Local democracy in Crewe and Nantwich will be strengthened by attracting people from a broad range of backgrounds to stand as a candidate to represent their community as a councillor. As part of the campaign to invigorate our local democracy, the following guide for is aimed at anyone who has ever thought of becoming a councillor or who would like to find out more information about the role and life of councilors here in Crewe and Nantwich.

This guide is in three parts: Part one deals with the role of Councillors, part two with the life you could expect as a Councillor, and part three with the support services which would be available to you.
