HIGHWAYS AND TRANSPORTATION LOCAL JOINT
COMMITTEE
The Highways and Transportation Local Joint Committee is an
Area Committee of Cheshire County Council, and as such is governed
by the County Council's Constitution and Standing
Orders.
The Local Joint Committee comprises 8 elected
members, 8 representing Cheshire County Council and 8
representative Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council.
Its responsibilities are to determine, within the County
Council's approved policies and budgets, operational matters
relating to the highways service in each district including:
(a) maintenance and improvement of highways
(b) traffic regulation and management and all other
functions of the County Council as Highways Authority as set out in
various primary legislation.
(c) Advising the County Council on all other related
matters concerning the exercise of the County Council's Highways
and Transportation functions affecting the district.
