'COMMUNITY' SCRUTINY
COMMITTEE
This Committee will be concerned with
services delivered to citizens and customers of the Council - for
example benefit payments, housing, leisure facilities and social
exclusion. It will also look beyond the Council to matters
affecting the well-being and health of residents of the Borough,
such as health care provision and the way other organisations such
as utilities deliver services. NB: The name of this Committee
was amended from its previous title of 'P&O People' by the
Council on 6th February 2002 when the final Constitution was
approved for adoption with effect from 1st March 2002.
At the Council meeting on 13th June 2007
the three Performance and Overview Committees were renamed as
Scrutiny Committees to be a more accurate representation of their
role from a public perspective.
