54        DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

No Member made any declaration of interest in respect of any item of business on the agenda.

55        MINUTES

           RESOLVED:  That the minutes of the meeting of Sub-Committee No. 6 held on 20^th November 2007 be approved as a correct record.

56        LICENCE FEES FOR 2008/2009

The report of the Executive Director (Environment and Development) proposed an increase in fees for certain of the licences which fell within the jurisdiction of the Licensing and Regulatory Committee.

Table A detailed proposed increases for Hackney Carriage, Private Hire vehicle and Private Hire operator licences. Table B detailed proposed increases for driver (joint Hackney & Private Hire), sex shop (grant), sex shop (renewal) and motor salvage operator licences.

A correction to Table A was made at the meeting. The proposed increase was £7 and not £8 as stated in the table.

RESOLVED:

(a) That notice be given of the proposed increase in licence fees for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire vehicle and operator licences shown in Table A of the report and that, subject to there being no objections received, the revised fees be brought into effect from 1^st April 2008; and

(b) That licence fees for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire drivers, sex establishments be increased as shown in Table B,  and brought into effect from 1^st April 2008; and

(c) That the licence fee for motor salvage operators be increased to £75 and be brought into effect from 1^st April 2008.
