P07/1227 Agricultural
Buildings, Polytunnels, Mobile Home, Access

REFUSED:
Reasons
1 No
Protected Species Survey or supporting information has been
submitted to identify whether or not Great Crested Newts or Silver
Lesser Water Beetles are present in this area or any mitigation
measures to protect these species during the construction
works. In the absence of this information, to allow this
development would be contrary to Policy NE.9 (Protected Species) of
the Borough of Crewe and Nantwich Replacement Local Plan 2011.
2 In the
opinion of the Local Planning Authority, the applicant has failed
to demonstrate that the proposed dwelling is essential for the
efficient working of the enterprise; and it is essential for the
proper functioning of the enterprise for one or more workers to be
readily available at most times. It has also not been
demonstrated that the new dwelling cannot be accommodated within a
nearby settlement and the proposal is therefore contrary to Policy
RES.5 (Housing in the Open Countryside) of the Crewe and Nantwich
Replacement Local Plan 2011 and the provisions of Annex A of
Planning Policy Statement 3.

STREET NAMING: LAND OFF DUNWOODY WAY,
CREWE
43 The
Committee considered the report of the Borough Planning Officer
which invited Members to approve the name ‘Partridge Close’ for the
development situated on land off Dunwoody Way, Crewe.
The proposal had been put forward by a member
of the Borough Council in recognition of the work carried out at
Marshfield Community Centre by Yvonne and Roger Partridge.
The Royal Mail had been consulted and had no
objection to the name, nor to an alternative name ‘Signals
House’.
RESOLVED: That the name
‘Partridge Close’ be accepted for inclusion into the Local Land and
Property Gazetteer.
STREET NAMING: LAND AT 310 CREWE ROAD
AND TO THE REAR OF 314 CREWE ROAD,
WISTASTON
44 The
Committee considered the report of the Borough Planning Officer
which invited Members to approve the name ‘Gerards’ followed by
either ‘Gardens’, ‘Close’ or ‘Drive’ for the development situated
on land at 310 Crewe Road and to the rear of 314 Crewe Road,
Wistaston.
The name ‘Gerards’ had been suggested by the
developer Antler Homes PLC after John Gerard; an English Herbalist
and Surgeon.
Both Wistaston Parish Council and Willaston
Parish Council had been consulted on the options and no objections
had been received to the proposed names; however the Royal Mail
advocated the use of either ‘Gerards Gardens’ or ‘Gerards
Close’.
RESOLVED: That the name
‘Gerards Gardens’ be accepted for inclusion into the Local Land and
Property Gazetteer.
STREET NAMING: LAND REAR OF 207-223
MIDDLEWICH STREET, CREWE
45 The
Committee considered the report of the Borough Planning Officer
which invited Members to approve either ‘Orchard’ followed by
‘Grove’, ‘Fields’ or ‘Lane’ or ‘Bramley Close’ or ‘Russet Close’
for the development situated on land rear of 207-223 Middlewich
Street, Crewe.
The names had been put forward by the
developer Ainsworth Homes (Northern) Ltd as the land on which the
development would be built was formerly used as an
orchard.
Whilst the Royal Mail did not object to the
use of “Orchard”, the Committee noted that its adoption could
result in confusion as the word occurred in four other street names
located within the
borough.
RESOLVED: That the name
‘Russett Close’ be accepted for inclusion into the Local Land and
Property Gazetteer.
