No Member made any declaration of interest in
respect of any item of business on the agenda.
24. EXCLUSION OF PRESS
AND PUBLIC
AGREED: That the press
and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the
following matter pursuant to Section 100(A)(4) of the Local
Government Act 1972 on the grounds that it involved the likely
disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part
1 of Schedule 12A (as amended) of the Act.
25. INTERVIEWS FOR THE
POSITION OF INDEPENDENT NON-COUNCIL MEMBER TO THE STANDARDS
COMMITTEE
At the meeting held on 3rd October
2006, three applicants were short listed for the position of
Independent non-Council Member to the Standards Committee (Minute
No. 20 refers). Two candidates attended the meeting, as the
third was unavailable.
The candidates received a short presentation
on the work of the Committee from the Acting Deputy Monitoring
Officer and the Democratic Services Officer before being
individually interviewed by the Committee.
RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL:
That Mr Roger Pomlett be appointed to Crewe and Nantwich Borough
Council’s Standards Committee as the third Independent non-Council
Member.
