APPOINTMENT OF SUB-COMMITTEES
The Committee was invited to appoint the seven Standing
Sub-Committees (Numbered 1 to 7).
Sub-Committees 1 to 5 (3-Members) would be responsible for appeals
in respect of the Licensing Act 2003.
Sub-Committees 6 and 7 (8-Members) would consider personnel matters
and taxi licensing issues.
RESOLVED: That Sub-Committees 1 to
7 be appointed as follows -

CHAIRS OF SUB-COMMITTEES
Each of the 3-Member Sub-Committees would elect their own Chair at
their first meetings. The Committee was
invited to elect a Chair for each of the 8-Member Sub-Committees
(Nos. 6 and 7).
RESOLVED: That Councillor W S
Davies be elected Chair of Sub-Committee 6 and Councillor W T Beard
be elected Chair of Sub-Committee 7.

Rebecca Allen, Assistant Solicitor, provided an overview of matters
to be taken into account when making
determinations under the Licensing Act 2003.

PROCEDURE FOR DEALING WITH APPEALS FROM A DECISION
OF
A LICENSING SUB-COMMITTEE
It was reported that an applicant for a licence had appealed the
decision of a Licensing Sub-Committee. The
Magistrates Court would be hearing the appeal in the next two
weeks.
Members discussed the most appropriate method of reporting the
outcome of such appeals to the Committee.
RESOLVED: That the outcome of
Appeals be reported to the Committee as and when
appropriate.
