Research is to
measure or discover new information, usually in a
systematic manor. Research is used to provide reliable
and representative evidence. Research techniques are often combined
with consulation techniques to seek views from a truly
representative sample, e.g. to ensure all groups are
represented fairly.
Consultation
seeking information or opinions from individiuals or groups.
Sometimes these groups will be residents of a particular area where
propsals are being made, or it may involve the views of many people
spread throughout the Borough.
The council values the opinions and views of our citizens.
Thorough research and consultation allows the council to ensure
that the services we deliver meet the needs and expectations of
citizens. Consultation and Research is vital to form evidence based
policy1.
