Queens Park restoration project stakeholders meeting - 13th December 2007

The dredging of the Lake by WM PLant Hire was carried out during August and September 2007 and is now finished and a start is to be made on the bridge construction works early in the New Year. Four engineering contractors are currently pricing the work and tenders are due back on the 18th January 2008.

The planning application for the bridges will be considered by the Development Control Committee on the 13th December 2007.

Consultation with stakeholder groups is on-going.    Some tree clearance particularly of dangerous trees, and decayed old pollarded specimens in the formal avenue has been carried out.   The next phase of the clearance will concentrate on removing weed species such as sycamore from the perimeter planting beds.
