Ensure that any pop up blockers are switched off.
Ensure that Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed.

Please note that some images made not be currently available due to technical difficulties.

  • General Search

Enter the relevant search information.  Here are some hints:

  1. Using the Parish field and a 'last month' date range will produce recent applications.   (Use 'date received' for the search).
  2. If you search by 'street' you need to be aware that properties without street addresses are listed by 'no name' followed by the Parish or location.
  3. Remember the system is very precise.  If you enter information other than what is recorded in the system you won't get a result.  So it is safest to stick to the pick lists and scroll through the results you get.
  4. The search results are listed in number order
  5. Associated documents are only available for those applications received after 1st December 2005.
  6. You can store the search pages as 'favourites' in your browser.

Viewing the Search Results

Your search should produce a list of applications that meet the search criteria entered.  If this is too long, try refining your search by entering more precise details.

Click on the application number to view the details of each application.

Viewing the Application

You will see a table of details taken from the Council's Northgate planning application management system.  These are being updated continuously, so you can follow the progress of the application by revisiting it every week.

At the bottom of the page (you need to scroll down) you will see links to the following:

  • Constraints.  These are the planning policies applying to the site.
  • Consultations.  These are the people or bodies that have been formally consulted on the application.
This is not a list of those who have made representations.
  • Documents.  To view these, click on the phrase ' View related documents'.  This will give a list of the available plans, drawings and other documents including representations.   Click on these to view them.  Drawing files are quite large, so they may take some time to download.   Associated documents are only available for those applications received after 1st December 2005.

If your security settings on your web browser are set to block pop-ups you may get an information message.   To continue and view the document click on OK and click on the message bar at the top of the screen.   Choose to "Temporarily allow pop-ups", click on Retry and the document should load to view.

Very large documents such as Traffic Impact Assessments submitted in support of planning applications are not available to view in full.   These documents can be viewed at the Planning Help Desk.

You may save drawings for future reference but remember:

The drawings are copyright, so you may only use them for the purposes of participating in the planning process.  Any other use, including use in the conveyancing process, is an offence.
The planning process often results in revised plans to overcome deficiencies in the proposal.  The originally submitted plans may not represent what is ultimately approved.
