Satellite Dishes

Before you buy or rent an antenna, check whether you need planning permission, listed building consent, or permission from the landlord or owner.

You are responsible for placing antennas in the appropriate position.

A number of factors affect whether planning permission may be needed.

Read the guidance on installing satellite dishes and antennas which has important information on the planning regime, appropriate siting - including an illustrated guide - suppliers and installers, a checklist and alternatives to installation.

Satellite/ Radio aerials

Normal domestic TV and radio aerials do not need planning permission.

If your house is a listed building, you may need listed building consent to install a satellite dish on your house.
