Dropped Kerbs and Crossovers

Permission from the Highway Authority

The construction of a dropped kerb or crossover for a vehicular access requires permission from the Highway Authority, Cheshire County Council.

Such crossings must be constructed to the County Council's specification, details of which can be obtained from the  Area Highways Team. The County Council's contractor can carry out the necessary work at the landowner or developer's expense.

Visit Cheshire's web site for more details.

Planning permission

Planning permission will also be required if the new access is on a classified A, B or C road.   Check here for the list of adopted highways.
