Welcome to the Planning pages of the
Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council web site.
The Council has
implemented a new computer system which is being upgraded over
6 days commencing on Wednesday 9th July 2008 through to
midday on Tuesday 15th July 2008. During this
time there will be limited access to systems to allow data transfer
to be completed. Access to Planning
Explorer and Applications OnLIne may not be available for this
period. We apologise in advance for any
inconvenience and will endeavour to make the system available
again as soon as possible.
Discharge of planning
conditions
From 6th April 2008 charges apply
to all requests for approval of details to discharge conditions
attached to planning permissions and requests for confirmation that
conditions have been complied with, regardless of when permission
was granted.

conditions should be made on the Standard application

Requests for confirmation of compliance with conditions
should be made in writing or by e-mail to planning@crewe-nantwich.gov.uk.
The appropriate fee must be provided with the request.

Validation checklists
The Borough Council
has adopted Local Validation Checklists for
planning applications. Local
Validation Checklists will be used in association with
national requirements to assess whether a planning application is
valid, i.e. all the necessary information relating to the type
of development proposed has been submitted, thus enabling the
Local Planning Authority to make an informed decision.

Copies of the documents are also
available for inspection at the Council Offices at Municipal
Buildings, Earle Street, Crewe and Nantwich Office, Beam Street,
Nantwich, during their normal office hours. Also at Crewe
Library, Prince Albert Street, Crewe and Nantwich Library, Beam
Street, Nantwich during their normal opening hours.
Cheshire Town Centre Study
Crewe and Nantwich Borough
Council, in partnership
with Cheshire County Council, Congleton Borough Council,
Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council, Macclesfield Borough
Council and Vale Royal Borough Council commissioned consultants
White Young Green to prepare a Town Centre Study for Cheshire.
The Town Centre Study updates the Cheshire 2000 Retail Study
and fulfils the requirements of Planning Policy Statement 6
including identifying a network of centres, assessing the need for
additional development and undertaking town centre health
checks.

Queens Park Restoration

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR THE
RESTORATION OF QUEENS PARK, CREWE
A major scheme for the
restoration of Queens Park is well
underway. The scheme is supported by the Heritage
Lottery Fund.
Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council invites expressions
of interest from suitably qualified and experienced contractors who
are able to commence work immediately upon award of contract for
all or parts of the following works. Construction
of footbridges, lake restoration including new lake edges,
fountains and aeration equipment. Repair and
refurbishing the exterior of the listed lodges, clock tower and war
memorial. Provision of new railings and gates,
play areas, and extensive hard and soft landscape works within the
park which is listed as Grade II in the register of Parks and
Gardens of Special Historic Interest.

Approximate value of work
£3m.
