Land and Property
Information
The Planning Help Desk operates to give informal
planning guidance to members of the public affected by planning
issues. The advice is informal and is not a decision of the Local
Planning Authority.
A formal written response on the
need for planning permission or other planning matters can be
obtained by writing to:
The Borough Planning
Officer, Municipal Buildings, Earle Street, Crewe, CW1
2BJ.
A charge may be made for
processing queries arising from Local
Land Charge
searches.
Property owners, solicitors and
others involved in the conveyancing process should note that no
reliance should be placed on informal guidance for the answering of
Local Land Charge questions. The Borough Council does not accept
responsibility for any loss or injury how so ever caused, financial
or otherwise, through use of any information or data obtained in
this way.
The Borough Council strongly
advises that information be obtained in writing. However, no
responsibility is accepted for any subsequent interpretation of
information or data. Purchasers of land and property should make
their own judgement about the content and implications of any
information provided. The Borough Council, in supplying written
information to potential purchasers and their agents, expects that
a copy of this information will be made available to purchasers
prior to the signing of any contract.
INFORMATION GIVEN BY OFFICERS
VERBALLY
Officers are able to give verbal information about
applications in the following circumstances:
- discussion of the merits of the case;
- in non-delegated cases, the likely nature of his/her
recommendation to the Committee.
In all cases, verbal information given or
discussions held are to assist in the proper assessment of the case
and are without prejudice to its formal determination.
The Council does not believe such comments by Officers give grounds
for claims of issue estoppel and will vigorously defend all such
claims.
