Grass Mowing Routes
Grounds Maintenance currently cuts 217 Hectares of grass throughout
the Borough including, playing fields, public open spaces, Wulvern
Housing communal areas, some highway verges (but not in the rural
areas), business parks, formal parks and industrial estates. The
quality of cut depends upon a number of varying factors including
type of machine used and frequency of cut.
The mowing routes contain all
the areas of grass cut by us, the routes are in alphabetical order
- first by town or village and then by street location. To identify
the frequency of grass cutting in your area, all you need to do is
find the piece of grass in question and cross reference it against
the list of routes.
If you wish to make an enquiry about
an area of grass it would be helpful if you could quote the area
number, it is important to note that on some of the areas several
different routes may be involved and they may be cutting at
different frequencies the timings of which may not coincide.
Please note that every effort is
made to maintain the high standard of grass cutting on the listed
areas, but on occasions things may not run to schedule. This means
that the grass in your area may not be cut on a set day of the week
or, exactly every 7 or 14 days. Some of the things that could
affect the timetable are, breakdowns and inclement weather.
Every one can help to improve the
public realm by taking litter home and using litterbins provided,
by not parking on grass areas and crossing grass areas with
vehicles causing damage and help us to keep pressure on people fly
tipping and misusing public open space.
