The Borough Council's Planning Division operates an innovative
approach with its Building Control, Development Control and Local
Plan teams integrated in the same working environment.
Multi disciplinary expertise is available to deal with all manner
of problems from very complex to general guidance. A daily duty
officer system is in operation. The Building Control section is
also responsible for demolition, dangerous buildings, licensing of
scaffolds and hoardings and inspection of premises used for public
entertainment.
Same day inspections are carried out if contacted before
10am.
