Nantwich Outdoor Pool – Early Visitors

Thursday 1st May 2008
The outdoor brine pool at Nantwich Swimming
Pool & Fitness Centre may not have officially opened to the
public for the summer season yet, but that hasn’t stopped some of
the pool’s regular users jumping in for a quick dip before the
crowds arrive. Thirteen ducklings have been born in the floral
displays around the edge of the pool and have already started their
swimming lessons in the brine pool as it is being filled up ready
for the opening later in May.
Nantwich Pool Manager, Dave Morris says, “We
welcome the family of ducks every year at the pool, they will stay
around the pool area for a few weeks until they build up some more
strength while joining some of the paying customers for a quick
swim up and down the length of the pool. As soon as they have built
up sufficient strength our lifeguard team will help them down to
the river where they will stay to grow up.”
For everybody else who is waiting to use this
unique facility in the heart of Nantwich, the official opening for
members of the public will be taking place on Saturday
24th May at 9.30am with special guests including Steve
Davis, Head Coach from Nantwich Town FC. The pool will then remain
open throughout the summer until Sunday 28th
September.
