Borough Land Charges Unit is shortlisted for National
Awards
The Local Land Charges Department at Crewe and
Nantwich Borough Council has been shortlisted by the National Land
Information Services Council, known as ‘C-NLIS’, for two out of the
eight awards in this year’s contest. The national winners
will be announced at the awards dinner at the Blackpool Hilton on
Tuesday 29th January. The Awards have been created
to acknowledge the work and achievements of Local Land Charges
Officers and will give recognition to those Local Authorities who
are playing a key role in modernising and shaping the future of the
industry.
The Land Charges Department at Crewe and
Nantwich is headed up by Strategic Manager, Alan Millington and
Support Service Manager, Lorraine Rossiter. They and their
team are delighted to have reached the finals in the Marketing
Innovation and Best Local Land Services Department
categories. The marketing award is designed to encourage
Local Land Charges departments to promote their services
professionally and imaginatively. The Best Service award
focuses on performance in terms of price, turnaround and overall
consistency. The judging panel includes several senior
figures from the statutory bodies, the legal profession and
industry.
Borough Councillor Rachel Bailey, Portfolio
Holder for Planning, said: "I believe that these awards
reflect the service provided by CNBC Local Land Charges Department.
Furthermore, it confirms the confidence held in a service
which, in the main, is provided by local government.”
Councillor Bailey added that this achievement was against a
background of additional workload and knowledge requirements as a
result of the Government’s introduction of the HIPs requirements
for property sales.
