Sports Development and
Participation
This section of The Sports Development Team web site
highlights some of the local sport and physical activity taster
sessions and events.
In order to increase participation
levels for sport and physical activity in the local area, the
Sports Development team contribute to a range of activies and
projects. These activies and projects act as either taster
sessions or events for engaging people.
The Sports Development Team seek to provide exit routes and other
opportunites for people to continue in sport and physical activity
after they have taken part in these taster sessions or events.

Sports
Festivals In order to increase participation, awareness
of health and physical activity and create opportunities for young
people to engage in sport, the sports development team in
partnership with Sport Cheshire have organised sports festivals for
young people aged 10 - 16 years in Rugby, Girls Football, Netball,
Swimming and Cricket

Sportshall
Athletics Programme
Sportshall Indoor Athletics Programme provides fun athletics and
takes place throughout the Borough, and is one of the few
programmes that fully engages the rural schools. This year it
will also include disabled young people.

South Cheshire
Cross Country
The sports development team in partnership with local high schools
have re established this event in partnership with local
schools.

StarTrack Outdoor athletics programme run
throughout the school holiday programme at the following venues:
The Cumberland Arena, Barony Park, Bickerton and Wrenbury.

Town
Sports Held at the Cumberland Arena in June for local
Primary Schools.
|
The above athletics programmes
increase participation for athletics in the borough and help to
support Crewe and Nantwich Athletics Club who train at the
Cumberland Arena.
