What is Street
Sports?
The Street Sport Programme
provides young people with the opportunity to participate in
various sport and physical activity sessions, within their own
community, free of charge. The main aim of the programme is
to reduce identified anti-social behaviour and youth nuisance,
using sport as a diversionary activity.
The programme is funded by various
partners including the Crewe and Nantwich Safer Communities
Partnership, Ward and Parish Councillors and run by the Crewe and
Nantwich Sports Development Team. The programme is being
delivered at various venues throughout the Borough.

Street Sports
League
The Street Sports Programme also
runs it's own league, every Monday 5.30-7.30pm at the Cumberland
Arena. Participants at each of the Street Sports venues are
encouraged to come together and form teams and play in the league.
Not only does this provide opportunities for increased levels of
participation, it also helps young people develop new friendships
and gets them used to working as part of a team. The League
also brings together different communities from the Borough.

Parker.
