Queens Park Lake - Fishing Rules & Regulations
  1. Fishing is allowed throughout the year (1st January to 31st December) during normal Park opening times. However, the area available to anglers may be restricted at certain times, e.g. when a fishing match is in progress, or during the boating season when the north end of the lake only, may be fished.
  2. All fish immediately after landing must be returned to the water and not kept in a keep-net. The only exception to this rule is during a fishing match when small fish may be retained in a keep-net until weighed at the end of the match. However all carp must be weighed and returned to the water immediately after capture.
  3. Strictly no use of the following baits: -
       Groundbait of any kind including mashed bread.
       Hemp/Tares
       Bloodworm/Joker.
       Surface floating baits - e.g. floating crust, mixers or similar baits.
       Nuts of any description.
       Trout pellets.
          The following particles are also banned: -
             Groats.
             Chick Peas.
             Maple Peas.
             Beans of any description.
  4. No spinning or Live or Dead Baiting.
  5. Strictly No pre-baiting prior to fishing.
  6. No Beach caster rigs
  7. One rod only to be used with one hook and this must not be left unattended. A second rod may be used, however this will incur an additional charge. Only one rod to be used when match fishing although other rods may be set up.
  8. Strictly no casting beyond half way across the lake or half way between pegs.
  9. All unused bait must be taken home and not thrown into the water or onto the grass areas surrounding the lake.
  10. Loose feeding is allowed in moderation but must be kept to an absolute minimum.
  11. No fish to be taken away from the water. All fish are to be returned to the lake.
  12. Use of non-toxic weights only. No lead shot to be used.
  13. Carp Rigs - The use of permanently fixed leads is strictly forbidden - Use only running or semi - fixed rigs. (Permanently fixed leads kill fish)
  14. No litter or discarded line/tackle to be left on the bank.
  15. No motorbikes or vehicles to enter the park other than disabled person's vehicles.
  16. Public toilets to be used at all times.
  17. All anglers must posses the appropriate valid Environment Agency rod licence.
  18. Please handle all fish carefully.
  19. Should any wildfowl be harmed or line lost then the Park Keeper should be informed immediately.
  20. Parks staff will patrol the lakeside to ensure that the above regulations are strictly adhered to.
  21. Contravention of any of the above regulations will result in the withdrawal of angling rights.
  22. The Borough Council reserves the right to delete or amend any of the above conditions without prior notice.
