Pre school Playgroup - Over 20 years making, singing and
learning !
Since the community playgroup
started over 20 years ago , Victoria Community Centre Playgroup has
been providing fun & stimulating activities for children in a
safe environment, 5 mornings a week and 3 afternoons a week.
During this time the children have
created over 15000 paintings, 1000 models from yoghurt pots, cereal
boxes and egg boxes!
Denise Lee first used the playgroup
when she started bringing her daughter to the group . "It was a
lovely environment to come to - my daughter had fun and at the same
time started to learn how to hold a pen and how to make shape
amongst other things. When she grew up I decided to stay on here.
I've been working here a while now - my daughter is now 21years
old!"
Denise along with all the other
members of staff are all qualified to NVQ level 3 Early Years
.
The playgroup has become ofsted
registered and follows the full educational curriculum. That means
Messy Fun with Painting, Playdough, Glueing, Serious Fun
stimulating interest in shapes and general pen control, not
forgetting Loud Fun with songs stories rhymes. At some point the
signs and the symbols & shapes that go with the spoken words
will begin to make sense to children. Once they crack this code
they will be off on an amazing adventure of learning. The Playgroup
helps start the process off.
Suzannah Whittaker said ' Our son
really enjoys attending playgroup and with the help and guidance of
the staff, he is learning more each time he visits. I think
pre-school is an excellent way of introducing a young child to
school life, both for educational needs and social
independence'
"My son goes to Victoria Pre-School
Group because the staff are friendly approachable and care for the
children in a very special and unique way. I wouldn't want him to
go anywhere else. Going to Victoria Pre-school Group has made a lot
of difference to Thomas and he Loves everything about it!" a
satisfied mum.
"As a mum of 2 children I feel very
confident in sending my child to Victoria Pre School Group because
I know that my daughter feels comfortable being there . The staff
are very friendly and caring they also spend plenty of time doing
different activities with the children. The facilities are very
good and plenty of choice. I also like the fact that the class is
not too big.
My eldest child finished attending Victoria Pre-School Group this
September after spending 2 years there and I am now very happy for
my youngest daughter to be there until she starts school !" said
Mrs Crank another satisfied mum.
