May 2008 - Everybody Interactive Showcase
Shavington Leisure Centre played host to a free showcase of new
interactive fitness equipment to members of the public, community
groups, schools and potential funding partners on Thursday 15th
May. The new interactive fitness suite is just one part of a number
of plans to develop the leisure facility at Shavington to extend
community use, especially for young people and the elderly.
School and community groups from all over the Borough attended
on the day to view and try out the new interactive fitness
solutions from ZigZag including the Sport Wall, Machine Dance
(dance mats), Makoto and Cybex Trazer (motion tracking) systems as
well as showing plans for some exciting potential developments at
the centre.
The Mayor of Crewe & Nantwich, Cllr. Brian Silvester, took
the opportunity to visit the showcase while it was being enjoyed by
members of Shavington High School. After his visit he said, “It
would be fantastic to see this project at Shavington Leisure Centre
come to fruition and being adopted across the Borough. Having seen
the potential of the proposed development, it is clear that it will
provide many opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to
undertake regular, fun and sociable exercise.”
