Employee Development
The importance of training and developing employees and
elected members in line with organisational goals is clear.
Our past success has been a contributing factor in the Council's
achievement and retention of the 'Investor in People' award.
All employees have access to an annual review to enable areas of
required development, linked to organisational goals to be
highlighted. Since 1st December 2002 mechanisms
have been put in place to monitor access to training provision and
the results up to 11th April 2003 are as follows:

Of the 204 recorded training activities 58 monitoring
questionnaires were returned. None of the respondents classed
themselves as disabled.
It is clear that there needs to be a more proactive approach in
encouraging the completion of monitoring forms. Progress will
be reported on a quarterly basis to the Equality Working
Group.
