The Wardens have undergone a comprehensive training programme enabling an understanding of the law, enforcement procedures and the key role of working with the community. Included was a full week of Government approved S.I.T.O. (Security Industry Training Organisation) training.

 

The Police provided training opportunities for many of the practical aspects of the job, including witness statements, communications whilst on patrol, self-defence and dealing with aggressive behaviour.

Training continues to be a part of the work pattern as the Wardens develop the range of social and environmental issues, in which they can assist the public. Other agencies that deal with enforcement issues or supporting community development are consulted to learn how the Wardens can best link with the aims of those services.
