- The majority of the population travels to work via motorised
transport (72%).
- In Crewe and Nantwich more than double the proportion of people
travel to work by bicycle compared to all other areas.
- Gross Weekly pay is higher than the North West.
- Cheshire as a whole is expected to experience relatively stable
number of people in the labour supply in the short to medium term
(2006-2011). Long term trends are for a 4% decline (to 2021).
- Crewe and Nantwich in contrast is forecasted to see an increase
in the short term of 2% with a corresponding 3% medium term
increase in the labour Supply. After this peak in the medium term
the labour supply is expected to fall, marginally decreasing by 1%
in the long term.

this is higer than both the North West (77.2 percent) and Cheshire
(81.5 percent).
- The employment rate in Crewe and Nantwich is currently 77.5
percent, this is higher than the North West (73.6 percent) but
