What happens if my circumstances
change?
The law say you must tell us if there is any change to the
information we have used to decide whther you are entitled to
Housing Benefit or Council tax Benefit.
If your circumstances change we need to know as soon as
possible. These changes could include:
- changes to your income (wages, maintenance, benefits, works
pension, tax credits or any other income at all)
- If you stop receiving Income Support or Job seekers
Allowance
- if you srtart receiving
- changes in the amount of savings you have
- changes to your household when people join or leave
- changes to the income of other people in your household;
- A child leaves school
- changes to your rent (private or housing association tenants
only); or
- if you move, have to live away from home, become a student, go
into hospital, go to prisonor get a new landlord.
PLEASE REMEMBER: This list does not
include every change. Tell the Benefits Section if you are not sure
whether it will make a difference.
You should tell us in
writing straight away
