Home and Garden Safety
There are around 2.6 million home accidents in the UK each
year as a result of which the victim visits an A&E
department for treatment. In addition, there are a similar number
of cases in which the victim is treated by a GP and hundreds
of cases are treated at home. There are around 4000 deaths
from accidents at home every year.
Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council
has appointed a part time Home Safety Officer to provide
information and advice on all aspects of safety within the home and
garden. The Officer carries out awarness sessions aimed
at key stage 2 children within the borough's primary
schools, awarness sessions aimed at adult groups, home
safety competitions and campaigns.
